Well, it's been a few days now since we posted anything, huh? To be honest, nothing really attention worthy came out and I'm getting tired of watching all the painful bullshit. But, I've recharged my batteries by watching some older cult films and I'm good to go.
This one, I watched a couple of days ago and thought: Look, another Walking Tall/The Rundown flick... However, it wasn't, it was awesome! Sure, a few holes here and there, couple of clichés, but an excellent action movie in the end.
Basically, you have Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson who is, while being a silent, vengeful, brutal absolutely-nothing-to-lose motherfucker, tracking down and literary executing the men who killed his old crew. He is chased by Billy Bob Thornton and Carla Gugino, a dirty cop and an excellent detective, respectively. Also, the plot includes another killer in the film who really has fucking issues, let me tell you.
All in all, I was truly and honestly surprised by the complexity of the script and the presentation of the entire character list. Every fucking character was developed superbly. Everybody's issues and problems were involved in the overall story, which was really strange for this type of an action film. But, hey, it worked perfectly!
This is an excellent action flick, people and objectively - it gets a 7. However, I haven't seen an action movie in a long time and this one just amazed me. Personal rating would be 8 out of 10.
