Dylan Dog: Dead of Night - made of shite.

As a kid, I read a ton of Dylan Dog comics, it drew me into the horror filled world instantaneously. I loved the stories, the artwork and I loved his inner monologues. It's not a surprise that I'm a fan to this day.

Having seen the trailer for the movie months ago, I knew what I was getting myself into. However, I just couldn't help myself. "Curiosity killed the cat" rang in my head. Oh well... It's Dylan, let's give it a go.

While watching, the first thing that kicks in is the monologue, so I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, we're on to something here. Second thing I notice is how strangely pleased I am with the casting. Brandon Routh really gave it his best. But, unfortunately, that's as far as it goes. The story is extremely slow and it feels like it's written for retarded people. The Italian styled writing is completely lost. And, although I knew that would be the case, it still made me furious. The director only seemed to care about the humorous scenes, and there is quite a number of those, while totally neglecting the atmosphere and the surroundings.

The only positive thing in the entire film, beside the ones mentioned (briefly), is the mention of the mighty creator Tiziano Sclavi. Since I'm still shocked and appaled, that's about it.

4 out of 10.
