Unstoppable completely stops you.

Confession: bad prejudice was included before pressing play. I didn't expect too much out of action thriller named Unstoppable starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine. But don't judge a book by it's cover.

Allow me to start by emphasizing that Unstoppable is not another train wreck, but an extraordinary thriller that keeps the audience at the edge of their seats. I caught myself being so into the screen and actions at the time that my cigarette was smoking itself. Yeah, there was no time for anything else. The whole attention was focused on sounds and images this Tonny Scott's project was producing. The best part is that Scott succeeded in keeping that tension so long that you literally need a break every few minutes. I don't know if it was me, but yeah, this is one great attention keeper.

Story goes something like this: the train is set in motion when douchebag piloting it gets out to adjust the tracks up ahead. He can't get back into the cab because the handbreak goes off and air one isn't connected so the train continues to accelerate. There is no other way to stop it unless you get someone on 'The Beast' (777) to stop it manually. After a couple of failures it becomes almost full speed unmanned machine. I will leave the rest for you to find out mentioning that Unstoppable has a lot in common with Speed (1994) where Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock deal with the speeding bus that can't slow down due to the planted bomb.

Talking about cast, Denzel and Chris showed some enviable acting skills. Combining them with Rosario Dawson was everything but failure. And it's interesting how Scott didn't allow them that much screen time. No, attention is focused on actions and thrills, just as it should be. Besides that, Unstoppable doesn't lack drill that makes you giggle now and then, so it's not flat action. You embrace it with pleasure because they do the above mentioned break time rather well.

Another interesting thing is that it looks like CGI was on holiday during the making of this breathtaking piece of excitement. Sounds weird, doesn't it? A very low level of CGI in an action thriller that includes train destroying everything in its way? Geez, that required some hard work!

When you count it all, it's a movie you can't miss if you're an action-thriller fan. This project was in good hands, cheers Tonny! Without any remorse I give it 8/10.
