Alright, finally something decent for the thrill-seeking moviegoers. This, my friends, is an excellent piece of unconventional, action-packed and actually thought-through goodness.
The story isn't exactly typical, I have to admit. It's basically, busting your murder convicted wife out of prison. One might think that there's not much to that story, but Paul Haggis covered it all. It has drama, action, suspense, intelligent planning, twists... all of it.
The reason why this one went so unnoticed is because it had the same release date as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, nothing more.
Russell Crowe, being a baddish actor that he is, did an amazing job. He portrayed his character in an extraordinary fashion showing stress, confusion, strength, determination, etc. Elizabeth Banks had her character covered as well. Even thought it was a supporting role, she found the time to develop it and present it superbly. Now, with me being gay on the weekends, this cameo made my head explode. Of course, it's Liam Neeson portraying a strong and wise persona, providing help and direction, as well as the entire film's flow which it will follow.
Ending this with Liam? Yes.
The story and its fragments are excellent, the flow that it has is superb, and the ending is fantastic. The film easily takes 8 out of 10. Cheers.
