These days, a c ouple of smiles and one outloud laugh (and if you're really lucky two) qualify as a good comedy and in my world, if I get any of these (minus Cooper/Galifianakis brain rape) I consider it a successful definition of the genre.
Horrible Bosses presents you with an all-star cast and a plot that we can all relate to oh so easily! And even though this movie has been compared to The Hangover (god knows why), it is so far from it that it's absolutely delightful.
You know how certain roles define an actor for a lifetime? Well, I will watch Jason Bateman onscreen and think of his Michael in Arrested Development, Kevin Spacey will always be Keyser Soze, Jennifer Aniston is an eternal Rachel and Jamie Foxx...well, is Jamie Foxx. However, in this one, some of them are so far out of their target roles that it's not only fantastically refreshing but surprisingly fitting (cases in point: Aniston and Farrell).
I predict that more than a couple of this movie's quotes will turn into an iconic ones and that Charlie Day's career will see a sudden push (as it should). And while Day is definately the break-out star of this movie, I have to stress out the greatness that is Colin Farrell playing a complete idiot so well that you simply have to put a blind eye towards his most recent actorial flops.
Watch this. You'll enjoy it - trust me. 7.5 out of 10.
