13 is kind of a movie that starts with 'Whoa!... few days/months earlier..'. Or at least Gela wanted it to be 'Whoa!'. There are no twists, unexpected turns, moments that make a good movie. Some characters just disappear and everything they've built up goes utterly unnoticed. So, many holes which could have been filled thus making 13 worth one's attention.
You get to know the plot after the first 30 minutes. Then you get surprised a little bit (if you haven't watched the trailer, but if you have - it's pointless to spend time sitting beside this one) after which everything becomes clear as something like 'Mission impossible'. Sad but true.
The idea itself is good, but poorly expanded. Actually, I'm afraid to use the word 'expand' when talking about this predictable hour and a half. You'll get what I'm talking about if you decide to throw away some precious time. On the other side, the ending doesn't leave such a bad feeling after all, so you don't hate 13 that much. But, don't try watching it again. I'm sure that would change.
Putting yourself in a skin of a guy who is stressed, confused and literally forced to do things that could change (end) his life is a challenge, I must say. So, good job Sam Riley.

As a matter of fact, everybody did their job rather well. Oh, wait. 50 cent you say?
Dude, I mean, really?! He must have thought...no, he must have not thought at all! He and whoever is credited for putting him there. During his 5 minutes of screen time, 13 turns into a comedy. And that's something. I mean, a guy gets a couple of minutes, and makes you laugh. That yellow Lamborghini Gallardo showing up 2 times (about 4 seconds in total) made more sense than 50's acting. Sorry man, but next time try not to mistake the gym with acting, please?

Statham also did some job worth mentioning. It's a shame that Mickey Rourke's character disappears in the middle of the story, and Michael Shannon showed us how constantly loud he can be (but I couldn't understand why).
This review couldn't be any longer, 'cause there really isn't much to say about 13.
As for the question of my rating of this could've-been-a-good movie, read the title again.
